In the world of augmented reality, immersion is a critical factor in the way the experience is perceived by players and users. The experience in AR itself relies on how immersive the environment is. How the world is presented in the interface of technological devices determines the perception of the experience intended by creators. This concept of perception of augmented realities has become a huge opportunity for not only video games but also non-virtual environments like amusement parks as well. As mentioned in this chapter, Jurassic Park rides have begun to progress into virtual experiences with the use of AR elements. Riders are able to have realistic experiences that mimics scenes from movies. The Nintendo Wii is also a play-on immersion that extends beyond the keyboard and cell phones. Being able to move on the screen with a Wii remote control in a 3-D space, the Wii allows players to play various different sports from the comfort of their own homes. Online co-op games such as Phasmophobia have become a new way for players to collaborate with one another in the virtual world. In the game, players have to contribute to different tasks in order to gather glues and "evidence" to complete the mission. With each player taking on different roles in a team, their actions can impact one another. Virtual proximity voice chat also replicates distance between each player, creating a more immersive gaming experience.
